• Apache is 2.2.14
• MySQL is 5.1.42
• Tomcat is 6.0.20
• PostgreSQL is version 8.4
• Python is 2.6
• Perl is 5.10.1
• Gcc is 44.4

File systems

• Technology preview of btrfs filesystem

Other Notable Changes

• Default use of NFS v4
  
• SysV init is gone in favour of upstart. Upstart comes with legacy support for traditional init scripts in /etc/init.d.
  
• Support for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)
  
• iSCSI  can now be used as root or boot devices
  
• As expected, Xen has been dropped in favour or KVM
